Accessibility Statement

Beamline exists so families can stay connected across an ocean — and that only counts if everyone can use it. Beamline Systems (operated by MINAC GROUP LLC) is committed to making our website, the Beamline iOS app, and our partner portal usable by the widest possible audience, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, switch controls, voice control, magnification, and captions.

1. The standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, and conforming to them also helps us honor the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.

Our current status is honestly described as partially conformant: most of the Service meets WCAG 2.1 AA, some parts may not yet, and we treat closing those gaps as ongoing engineering work rather than a one-time project.

2. What we have built so far

Accessibility measures already in place across the Service include:

Semantic structure and keyboard access. Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks, and native controls; interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, and every page starts with a "skip to content" link.

Screen-reader support. Navigation, buttons, form controls, and icon-only links carry text alternatives (ARIA labels) on the website and partner portal; the iOS app labels its interactive components (sending flows, keypad, contact pickers, code entry) for VoiceOver.

Reduced motion. Decorative animation on our website — including the animated globe on the home page — respects the operating system's "reduce motion" setting and renders as a still image for users who have it enabled.

Contrast and themes. The website and app offer both light and dark themes, with text colors tuned during design review for legibility against their backgrounds.

Clear transactions. The exact total of any purchase is shown as text before you confirm — pricing is never conveyed by color or imagery alone.

3. Known limitations

We know about the following limitations and are working through them:

— Some marketing imagery and downloadable materials (such as printable flyers and posters) are designed primarily as visual artifacts and may not carry full text alternatives. The same information is always available as regular text on this website or from support.

— Portions of the checkout experience are provided by our payment processor (Stripe) and portions of app distribution by the Apple App Store; we choose these providers in part for their own accessibility track records, but their interfaces are outside our direct control.

— The admin and partner tools are being brought to the same standard as the public website; some screens there have not yet had a dedicated accessibility pass.

4. How we keep ourselves honest

Accessibility checks are part of how we ship: automated audits run against the website's pages, and design changes are reviewed for contrast, focus visibility, and motion sensitivity before release. This statement is reviewed and updated when the Service changes materially.

5. Tell us if something doesn't work for you

If any part of Beamline is difficult or impossible for you to use with your assistive technology, we genuinely want to know — it gets fixed faster than almost anything else we work on. Contact us at [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject line and, if you can, a note about the page or screen, your device, and the assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to provide the information or transaction you were trying to reach through an alternative channel while we work on the fix.

6. Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the issue with us again for escalation, or contact the relevant authority in your jurisdiction. In the United States, information about digital accessibility rights under the ADA is available at ada.gov.
